This segment from the October 1, 2021, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Kara St. Cyr’s visit to a traveling Smithsonian exhibit sponsored by ExxonMobil on “The Negro Motorists Green Book” at the Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge. St. Cyr reports that the Green Book was a travel guide that listed locations that were safe for African Americans to visit during segregation. She interviews Rodneyna Hart, the museum division director for the Louisiana State Museum, and Dave Oldrieve, the refinery manager at ExxonMobil in Baton Rouge.
