An oral history interview conducted on August 8, 2017, at the Vietnam Veterans of America Conference in New Orleans, with Sue Dirks of Jennings, Louisiana. Dirks’ husband and brother are both veterans of the Vietnam War. She discusses: her brother’s role in flying over Vietnam with Agent Orange; her brother not receiving benefits since he was not considered boots on the ground; her brother’s issues with skin cancer due to Agent Orange; her husband’s multiple cancer battles due to Agent Orange exposure; his difficulty in receiving help from the VA; and the pain of the Vietnam veterans.
