She shares the story of her husband, Captain Arthur J. delaHoussaye of Lafayette, Louisiana, who served as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. She discusses: her husband’s training; his assignment to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323; his role in flying 89 missions; his death during the Tet Offensive on January 31, 1968; how she learned about his death; how the Marines honored him; and her advice for young people who are interested in joining the military.
