An oral history interview conducted on November 11, 2017, with Alfred Cochran of Merryville, Louisiana. Cochran served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers during the Vietnam War. He discusses: his decision to join the ROTC Cadet Corps at McNeese State University; his unit’s role in building an air strip for the Special Forces; the Tet Offensive; his best memory of the war; his role as a First Lieutenant and platoon leader for the combat engineers; returning home; and being proud of his service in Vietnam.
