Description
An oral history interview conducted on September 6, 2007, with James F. Cole, a Personnel Sergeant with the 397th Bombardment Group of the Army Air Corps during World War II. He discusses: his deployment to an air base in England; loading bombs onto planes on D-Day; waiting for his squadron to return to their Belgian air base during the Battle of the Bulge; his unique position as one of only three Personnel and Classification Specialists in the European Theater for the Air Corps; the responsibility of maintaining the service records for about 400 men and officers; and his discharge from the service.
