Description
An oral history interview conducted on September 6, 2007, with Charles W. Hair, Jr., a member of the 88th Engineer Heavy Ponton Battalion of the United States Army during World War II. He discusses: his unit’s role in transporting and building floating bridges for Patton’s Third Army in France and Germany; his unit’s participation in training exercises before the war, including the Louisiana Maneuvers; and their pre-war experiments with bridges in Yuma, Arizona.
