Description
An oral history interview conducted on August 23, 2007, with Nathan Halpern, Jr., a clerk and secretary for the Army during World War II. He discusses: his first job as a clerk to a First Sergeant; his promotion as a Secretary to a Colonel with the Eastern Defense Command; his attempt at becoming an officer; his transfer to Schofield Barracks in Hawaii; attending college through the G.I. Bill; joining the Air Force Reserves; and his attempts at becoming a songwriter. Halpern also recites the lyrics for a war-related song he wrote called “After that Last Reveille.”
