An oral history interview conducted on September 13, 2007, with Dr. Alvin F. Hindelang, a pharmacist’s mate with the 3rd Amphibious Force of the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He discusses: joining the Navy and working at the naval hospital in San Diego; his transfer to the Marines; his deployment to the South Pacific; participating in the invasions of Guam and Okinawa; traveling to China; his transfer back to the Navy after the war; leaving military service; and why he had not spoken about his war experience until the past year.
