This segment from the 1997 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Nicole Armand, a student at Lee Road Junior High School in Bush. In 1995, Armand underwent extremely difficult and dangerous brain surgery to control her seizures caused by Intractable Epilepsy. Since the surgery, she has become an honor student, a cheerleader, and a singer. She also counsels other young children, who are facing this risky operation. Host: Beth Courtney
