Description
This segment from the 1997 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Traci Alexander, a student at Hamilton Christian Academy in Sulphur. Despite being born with only one finger on each hand and only half of each foot, Alexander is her class valedictorian with a 4.0 grade point average, the president of the National Honor Society and a member of the Homecoming court. She has also spearheaded fund-raisers for the needy, worked in food kitchens for the poor, and worked as a hospital volunteer in the summer. Alexander also helps care for her five adopted siblings, who are severely handicapped. Host: Beth Courtney
