This segment from the 1998 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Thomas Veade, a freshman at Jesuit High School in New Orleans. Veade has collected food and clothing for flood victims, planted flowers to beautify school grounds, worked in a homeless shelter, and learned sign language to assist with children who are deaf.
