Description

This segment from the 1998 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Michael Timpa, a fifth grade student at College Oaks Elementary School in Lake Charles. Despite suffering through eighteen surgeries and losing an eye and his ability to walk with crutches due to Spina Bifida, Timpa has never lost his determination or cheerful disposition. In addition to being an honor roll student, he is a member of the Chess Club and Boy Scouts and works as a reporter for his school television station. Hosts: Ashley Barton and Beth Courtney
