Description
This segment from the 2004 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Jessica Bonnett, a sophomore at West Monroe High School. Bonnett has endured a colostomy, an ileostomy, a tumor on her spine, and the tragedy of doctors mistakenly removing her healthy kidney during an operation to remove her diseased kidney. Despite these physical challenges, she is an active Girl Scout, participates in the Positive Forces counseling network for disturbed teens, and volunteers at the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter. Hosts: Emily Schmidt and Beth Courtney
