Description
This segment from the 2004 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree William Dunckelman, an eighth grade student at Houma Christian School. Dunckelman maintains a 4.0 grade point average and is a tireless fundraiser. After enduring two diseases normally associated with the elderly, Tigason’s Disease and shingles, he began volunteering at local nursing homes. He created Project FAME (Fine Arts Motivating the Elderly) in 1999 to provide emotional and intellectual stimulation for nursing home residents. Hosts: Emily Schmidt and Beth Courtney
