This segment from the 2005 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Lysbeth Shirley, a freshman at Lafayette High School. Born three months premature, Shirley is paralyzed from the waist down and has a hearing impairment. Her perseverance and upbeat outlook on life inspires everyone around her.
