This segment from the 2006 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Ann Marie Haynie, a freshman at C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport. During the summer, Haynie lost an arm in a water skiing accident. Despite her handicap, she plays on the varsity lacrosse team and performs floor exercises in gymnastics. She also maintains a 4.16 grade point average and participates in service clubs at school. Shortly after her accident, Haynie joined with other members of Grace Community Church to paint a house provided for Hurricane Katrina victims. Hosts: Brittany Parker and Beth Courtney
