Description
This segment from the 2007 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Jessica Elliott, a senior at Peabody Magnet High School in Alexandria. Because of her mother’s drug use, Elliott was born with a number of life-threatening heart problems that she was able to overcome. She is an outstanding student, the president of the senior class, and a member of the Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is also a volunteer with the Food Bank, the Lifeshare Blood Center, and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, as well as a peer tutor and a DARE volunteer at local elementary schools. Hosts: Shayla Price and Beth Courtney
