This segment from the 2008 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Vantez Martin, a junior at Dubach High School. Martin has overcome major difficulties in his personal life, including being abandoned by his parents and the death of his grandmother, who raised him. Despite these personal struggles, he is an honor roll student, the vice president of the student council, and a member of the basketball, baseball, and track and field teams.
