This segment from the 2008 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Kaitlin Truxillo, a seventh grade student at the E-School in Thibodaux. In 2002, Truxillo was diagnosed with leukemia. Her chemotherapy treatments caused her congestive heart failure, liver problems, and numerous infections. In March of 2006, her cancer went into remission. Truxillo contributes her paintings to fundraisers for Children’s Hospital and the Leukemia and Lymphony Society. Hosts: Cory Mayon and Beth Courtney
