Description
This segment from the 2010 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Katie Tuminello, a home schooled student from Brusly. During the summer of 2008, Tuminello was seriously injured in a near-fatal ATV accident. She suffered severe brain damage and has had to relearn how to walk, talk, and eat. In June 2009, Tuminello traveled to Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on behalf of the Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. She also serves as an advocate for ATV safety.
