This segment from the 2012 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Karissa Robertson, a senior at North Caddo Magnet High School in Vivian. In the span of four months, Robertson lost both of her parents and now lives with her older sister and brother-in-law. Despite her personal struggles, Robertson maintains a 3.7 grade point average and has already earned 37 hours of college credit. She is also the captain of the soccer team, a cheerleader, and a member of the volleyball and track and field teams. Robertson also participates in several school clubs and volunteers for several causes.
