This segment from the 2013 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Hollie Fields, a senior at North Caddo Magnet High School in Vivian. As a child, Fields suffered severe child abuse at the hands of her mother and great-aunt until she was placed in the custody of her grandmother. She also survived a serious disease called aplastic anemia. Despite these personal challenges, Fields is an outstanding student, the Brigade Commander for Junior ROTC, a member of Students against Destructive Decisions, an assistant Sunday school teacher, and a volunteer in her community.
