Description
This segment from the 2013 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Rachel Patteson, a senior at Northwood High School in Shreveport. Patteson has survived a tumultuous home life, including neglectful and drug addicted parents, abusive foster homes, and her abandonment by a friend’s family. She is now living in a stable home under the care of a guardian. Despite these personal struggles, Patteson is ranked third in her class and is an active member in several school clubs, including the National Honor Society, Key Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
