This segment from the 2015 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Lucia Boyd, a sophomore at Loyola College Prep in Shreveport. After being diagnosed with celiac disease four years ago, Boyd started a project called “Gluten-Freedom” to help provide low income families with gluten-free foods. She also wrote a children’s book called “The Best Lunch Ever” to help educate kids about the disease. Boyd is also involved in numerous school activities, including the golf team, and has performed in plays with the Shreveport Little Theater. Hosts: Shauna Sanford and Beth Courtney
