Description

Oral history with long-time Baton Rouge resident Dr. George Brian. Conducted September 20, 1994. In this interview, Dr. Brian discusses his childhood including living in the Old State Capitol building as a teenager, the history of the Old State Capitol, and how the Old State Capitol changed over the years. He also shares stories from his time living at the Old State Capitol including his relationship with the Long family, the day Huey Long was assassinated, and his thoughts on past Governors including James Noe, Richard Leche, and Earl Long. Brian also discusses some of the plays he wrote and starred in.
