Description
Oral history with State Representative of District 14 Charles McDonald. Conducted on June 27, 2007. In this interview, McDonald discusses his early life, his education including his doctorate in education, his service in Germany during the Berlin Wall Crisis of 1961, and his early careers as an educator and school administrator. He also discusses his start as a state representative in 1991. McDonald reflects on important events in his career as a representative and how his district has improved both socially and agriculturally over the years. As a state representative, McDonald spearheaded programs and bills that aided the Louisiana educational system. McDonald's interview took place alongside several other interviews of Louisiana legislators who left office in 2007 due to being term limited. Part 1 of 2.
