Oral history with District 34 State Representative Elcie Guillory. Conducted on June 18, 2007. In this interview, Guillory discusses his early life, his career in the Calcasieu Parish police jury, and how he started his career as a Louisiana Representative. He also reflects on some important achievements from throughout his career. Guillory was the first African American voted into the police jury in Calcasieu Parish. This interview is part of a series of interviews conducted with numerous Louisiana legislators being term limited following the 2007 legislative session. Part 1 of 3.
