Description

Oral history with District 85 State Representative Joseph Toomy. Conducted on May 30, 2007. In this interview, Toomy discusses his early life in Hoboken, New Jersey and moving to Louisiana at a young age, his education at Tulane University, and his start in running for public office during the 1973 Louisiana Constitutional Convention. He also talks about the comradery seen during his time as a representative, his time on the Jefferson Parish School Board, and his district as a whole. This interview is part of a series of interviews conducted with numerous Louisiana legislators being term limited following the 2007 legislative session. Part 1 of 2.
