Oral history with Chief of Talimali Band of Apalachee Indians Gilmer Bennet and his wife Jeanette Bennet. Conducted on September 14, 2010. In this interview, the Bennets discuss the history of the Talimali Band of the Apalachee, how the tribe was forced to migrate from Florida to the Louisiana territory, the struggle of holding on to their land granted to them in Louisiana, and the problems with racism the Apalachee faced throughout Louisiana history.
