School Board Superintendent F.F. Wimberly on a proposed 1 percent sales tax increase for Iberia Parish Schools. He suggests the proceeds would fund: an additional $100,000 a year for maintenance and repairs of existing buildings; an additional $150,000 a year for bringing libraries up to standard, secretarial assistance, principals in larger schools, repair and replacement of equipment, and materials and supplies for teaching; and finally, an additional $200,000 to keep the salaries of personnel in line with surrounding parishes.
