Description
Rosemary James report about the 13 candidates for New Orleans mayor not usually wanting to mix the politics of City hall with the politics of the building at Tulane & Broad, but that John Petre is the exception, having endorsed Harry Connick for District Attorney. Interview with Connick follows in which he states that he currently has one endorsement, but hopes for more. James then interviews candidate for district attorney Charles Ward, who accuses Petre and Connick of making a political deal under the table. Ward states that the people of New Orleans will not be fooled by the deal. James then interviews Petre, who states that Connick will make good district attorney, and that his endorsement has broken the race wide open. Petre accuses Ward of making wild allegations. James reports that the end result of the incident is that the district attorney's race is now an issue in the mayoral race.
