Description
Footage of speakers on equalization of property assessment. The first unidentified speaker states that the real estate board of New Orleans is opposed to an equalization plan which results in increased ad valorum taxes on private properties without parallel efforts designed to eliminate inequities in other areas of the ad valorum tax structure. The second unidentified speaker asks that: one, they should pass a resolution unanimously supporting equalization of assessments on both a local and statewide level; two, affirm their intention to go as a body to the governor to pledge support in any and all efforts for statewide equality; three, to express their unanimous intention to pursue the matter directly with the assessors of the New Orleans area; and four, to ask for the full cooperation and support from the various legislators in the New Orleans area and ask them to join in meeting with the governor.
