Description
Ron Hunter interview with an unidentified man from the New Orleans Speech and Hearing Center. The man states that there is a great deal that a child with a hearing disability can miss in life during the Mardi Gras season. He then stresses the importance of correcting speech and hearing defects at an early age, believing that waiting until school age is too late to avoid an educational delay. The Center likes to work with children with delayed language as early as possible, sometimes as early as 2 years old. Footage of with a teacher working with a child follows.
