Description
Mayor Woody Dumas talks about rescinding an order issued during the Bogalusa civil rights march. Dumas states that because he is already 30 men short with a possibility of losing another 139, with the marchers from Bogalusa arriving on Saturday, and with the existing tensions of people in the community, he thought that it was in the best interest of the community, and for all involved at this time, to rescind whatever order was given. He regrets that the chief did not meet with him before, but now that it's out on the streets, in his opinion what he's doing is in the best interest of everyone concerned. He hopes that those running for office do not take advantage of the volatile situation, and that the community understands what he has done.
