This segment from the February 16, 2024, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Karen LeBlanc’s visit to the showcase of the Louisiana Heritage Connections Curriculum in Abbeville, a program aimed at teaching middle school students about Louisiana’s Francophone culture. LeBlanc reports that the curriculum, also known as Lâche Pas, is currently available as an after-school elective in the Vermilion Parish Public Schools, but there are plans to expand the program statewide.
