This segment from the February 23, 2024, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Karen LeBlanc’s report on a new cancer treatment option at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center (MBPCC) in Baton Rouge, MRI-guided adaptive radiation therapy. LeBlanc reports that MBPCC is the first and only facility in Louisiana to offer this type of treatment. She interviews Micah Davis, one of the first patients to receive adaptive radiation therapy, and Dr. Kos Kovtun, the medical director for adaptive radiation therapy at MBPCC.
