This segment from the 2001 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Shan King, a junior at Baker High School. King lost both of her legs after a near fatal car accident in 1993. After rehabilitation, she now walks with prostheses. King is an A student and has won numerous awards for her contributions to her community and school, including launching her own fundraising campaign at her school for the Children’s Miracle Network.
